Chanel Enigma Eye Shadow Quad

I just wanted to share pics of the Enigma quad for Chanel Fall 2010. It's a lovely smoky quad. The shadows go on smooth and there were no problems with pigmentation.

All the shadows have a bit of shimmer to them which I like. The colors are a dusty pink, a taupey mink brown, a dark grey and a dark plum. All pics are with flash, just at different angles. They do not look as faded in real life.

There were 2 eye liners displayed in this collection. A dark plum eyeliner and a nude liner which reminded me of the chromagraphic pencil from Mac. The plum complemented the quad but did not stand out to me. I did not play with the nude liner before I left the counter. In contrast to the dark colors for the eyes; the lip colors and blushes are more colorful~to be shared in the next post.

Thank you for posting these! They look lovely--is the top picture of the pans taken with a flash? And the second picture with indoor light? I can't wait to see the blushes!!

Yep, first pic is with flash and second is without in indoor lighting.

I am so happy you are blogging more again!! Thanks for sharing the swatches.

They look nice, but it's nothing I need to have. I can see myself pairing these with brighter shadows for different looks. It's a classic palette that doesn't seem overly dark, which is good. Thanks for the swatches.

Wait..I am confused...The two pics are of same quad?

This is basically Chanel's version of Dior's Mystic Smoky palette.

@resham Yep both pics are of the same quad, first with flash and second without. My indoor lighting gives a yellow cast on things.

@anonymous They both do have similar color combos but Enigma is definitely a softer palette than Mystic Smokys.

These are absolutely beautiful! I eagerly await your blush/lipstick swatch post - do you know when the rest of the US might get this collection?

Hi Jen!
The colors are beautiful! I was wondering did you recieve a gift at the Chanel counter since BG is having their beauty event going on right now. I checked the online site and Chanel has a small gift with gift of purchase. I was wondering if it's the same gift at the store. Thanks!

@anonymous Sorry, I do not know when other stores will get it. Along with Bergdorf, the Chanel stores seem to be carrying it now as well.

@Melissa I did get the BG gift along with the Chanel gift. The Chanel one was a bit different than the one pictured online. I got a rouge coco sampler (card w/ 4 colors), sublimage cream sample jar, No. 5 sample, and a cleanser sample.

Thanks Jen! I went to BG today and saw the fall collection. It's really beautiful. I held myself back bc somehow, it was my last stop at the beauty level. I bought Paul&Joe, EdwardBess, and Sensai goodies before I stopped by the Chanel counter. I'm really tempted to go tomorrow. I prefer the store gift than the onine gift. Thanks for the info again!!

@melissa You're welcome! The BG clutch surprised me. I like that more than the samples it contained but the Chanel in store gift is pretty nice as well. I have yet to try Edward Bess or Sensai ~trying to limit myself a bit =)

Yes, the clutch is really cute! I didn't realize there's a glittery/shimmer sheen on the bag until I got home! There are lesser samples in the bag comparing to the previous beauty event gifts. However, the sizes are much bigger.

I knew I wanted the Enigma quad all along but I didn't expect the rest of the collection to be that pretty! The blushes are gorgeous but Pink Explosion caught my attention the most. Initially, I was planning to get the quad later in the summer but I'm tempted to get it already. I'm excited!! :) The sublimage cream is actually what I want from the gift. I tried it out from samples before. Even though it's for anti-aging, somehow it worked well for me but shelling out $375? isn't so easy to do lol.

I've been using the Sensai foundation for several weeks now even in this hot weather. It's really wonderful. I think it's my HG!

Edward Bess - It's a small collection but I love the eye shadows and lipsticks! Edward, the designer, is usually there at the counter late afternoon. He's actually really sweet and helpful. Even if you don't want to purchase anything, you wouldn't feel like you're being pushed to get it. Try to check it out if you can! I'm sure you will enjoy it :)
