Hello!
Sorry I've been m.i.a. I went on a cruise to Bermuda for the past week and did not have Internet access. They were charging crazy rates to use the Internet on the ship, but it was good to take a technology break. Although I did miss my blogs a whole lot, I got to see some excellent beaches, sights and gorgeous ocean views (who knew water could be so blue). Random tidbit: I did find a Mac cosmetics store in Bermuda and forced the bf to take a pic of me in front of the store (he thought I was nuts-haha)~will post pics soon!

Paul and Joe...mmmh stuff
I was wondering if the Bergdorf counter would have the Paul and Joe summer collection in already so I made a visit last Tuesday after work. The beauty floor was so empty. There were definitely more SA's than customers so I had to skillfully avoid eye contact so they would not pounce on me (I buy enough without harassment =P).
I made it to the Paul and Joe counter and I didn't see any of the summer stuff but I figure I would poke around. I ended up chatting with the really nice girl behind the counter. She told me one of the most popular item was the new foundation and she mentioned some of the skin care items. I had time to kill so why not, I decided to get matched for a foundation since I figure it would be helpful for future reference.
She used the light cleansing milk to remove the foundation I had on (Dior Airflash) and matched me on the first try-whoop! I'm 40 Almond in the protective fluid foundation. It really did give me a nice glow with decent coverage so this maybe my alternate to the vv expensive Airflash especially nice in the summer since it feels lighter and has the sun protection. She dusted on some of the Mauve press powder, which was nice but I didn't feel I needed right away ( I will give into it soon most likely). She also put on me a lipstick and lip gloss which I ended up loving-lipstick in 29 and lip gloss in 4. I also left with some skincare samples~all three of the cleansing milks.
She also mentioned the loyalty program. You sign up and for every $50 you get a kitty stamp on a card (bc the founder is obsessed with cats) and you get a gift once you collect 10 stamps. You also get a welcoming kit for signing up. I got the kit super fast, I signed up that Tuesday and had my welcome kit by Friday. It had sample of the toner (I had asked about it), light cleansing milk, moisturizing cream, purfume sample (although my vial was missing from the cardboard sleeve-there as still enough fragrance left on the card) and a cute brown and white make up bag.
Since BG didn't have the summer '09 items, I decided to order some online. I purchased the 3 nail polishes, 2 lip glosses and 2 of the eye shadows.
The nail polishes were all shaken from traveling so I did not see the cool stripe look that the promo pics showed right away. After a few hours of being upright, you can kind of see the separation but not very defined. After sitting upright overnight, the separation is much more apparent. 001 is light bronze with gold shimmer, 002 is clear with gold shimmer, and 003 is a sheer bright pink with gold shimmer. When dried, the polish does have a floral scent to it. Not a bad scent, just un-expected.

The 2 shadows I picked up from this collection were a dark brown with gold shimmer (002) and golden color with gold shimmer (001). The colors are pretty, but not super unique. The quality of the shadow is excellent though; I wore them today and they blended easily and did not crease. I think I will wait till BG has the collection in stock and check out the pink gold color.

I couldn't resist the swirl lip glosses that were being release although I only got the pink and gold one. They were both well pigment, shimmery and super comfortable on the lips.
This was a cute collection overall, although if you don't like gold shimmer it won't be for you =) The shimmer is done in a nice way for all items. I kind of wish there as more variety but I will enjoy the items I got. Hope you liked the pics, my allergy med is kicking in so time to call it a night!

Weekend re-cap, Moto Love and inspired look
Wow, the weekend is over. It went by so fast. Yesterday I spent the day at the Tanger outlets in Long Island. I ended up picking up getting a Juicy Couture dress and a Coach bag. I was glad that there wasn't a line outside the Coach outlet so the bf and I went inside. It was a madhouse as always but manageable. I ended up picking up a bag I had been eyeing a few months ago but it was insanely expensive so no purchasing then but at the outlet they were having a 50% off on a lot of items and the bag ended up being about 75% off retail. It's a pretty lilac color bag with silver hardware.
The Juicy dress I got seems to have come with a belt originally but it wasn't available at the outlets (weird but I'm not a big belt person anyway).

I also got the LE cluster earrings from Sarah aka Moto Jewelry in the mail yesterday-yay! I purchased the "CS" and "GD". I also received the cutest love note with the most adorable kitten pic on it and more candy (I swear she sends the best candy that I always end up trying to find during my next trip to the Asian supermarkets). I loved the new colors that Sarah did in crystals only. The CS is made of pastel crystals and the GD has different shades of purple.

I ended up bumming around for most of the day today but I decided to wear my GD earrings and do my eye make up based on the same colors.
On my face have on a DHC eye touchup, the Dior Airflash in 300 and the Mac mineralize blush in Love Rocks. For the eyes, I used Paul and Joe eye gloss #3 (a silver lilac color) as a base, YSL colour harmony palette in Lilac Sky, a Rock & Republic noir scene palette, Urban Decay liquid liner in Crash and Physicians Formula organic wear mascara. For lips, I have on the YSL volupte lipstick in nude beige and Lorac Couture Shine in Haute. Here's a close up on my GD inspired eye make -up.
I am wearing the Angel grey lenses I got from Mesmerized Eyes. This is the second time I've worn them for a few hours and they were fairly comfortable. I did make sure to put in some eye drops at lease once during the day but it was more of a precaution than the lenses feeling uncomfortable. The grey lenses show up blueish and it's a bit weird since you can still see the brown of my eyes so I might end up liking the brown ones more since they blend a bit better even though they aren't as dramatic.

More items from Dior and GWP
While I was at the mall last weekend, I ended up at Macys to see if other items from the Dior Cristal collection were available. They did have a display although some of the lip colors were missing and when I asked the SA about it she asked me what colors where being released since she didn't know.....ok.....Anyway, she ended up suggesting I try the Dior Airflash spray foundation. I never had much interest in spray foundation since I thought I would have a horrible time blending or end up spraying myself in the eye but instead of spraying me in the face; the SA sprayed onto a kabuki brush and then used circular strokes to apply the foundation. I ended up liking the dewy finish that it gave me. I normally find that the foundations I've tried leave me looking a bit chalky. The nudeskin liquid foundation was decent but I ended up liking the airflash more. It is mad expensive for a 2.3fl oz can but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
The SA also ended up putting on me the Lip glow color reviver balm which is essentially Dior's answer to Smashbox O-gloss. It comes in a similar packaging to the Shine Addict Lipsticks and has a similar feel on the lips. It goes on clear but after a few seconds it gave me a really deep pink color which I thought was much more flattering than the pink I got from O-gloss. On top of the Lip glow, the SA put on the addict ultra gloss in chiffon beige - a pretty golden beige color although after I brought it home I thought I already had many similar colors so I might go return it at some point.
From the new collection, I purchased the new addict shine lipstick in artist pink- a sheer pink color with pink shimmer to it. I did not find the new addict ultra gloss this time around but I will have to check it out the next time I go to Macys.

YSL Tresor D'Afrique Lip Palette
I felt that a better mood would be set for this post on the YSL Tresor D'Afrique if I wrote it in French; however, my many years of studying the language in no shape gave me proficiency in that languge so entry in English it is! The Tresor D'Afrique lip palette is part of the YSL summer collection. I had thought I would fall for the quint eyeshadow palette from this release but instead the lip palette has wooed me. It comes in a nice matte dark bronze compact which I love because it doesn't show any smudgy fingerprints that the shiny compacts do and comes with a velvet brown sleeve.
Inside contains 4 punchy colors that are great for summer. Each lip color has a watermelon scent similar to the Rouge volupte lip stick. There is a shimmery bubblegum pink gloss, a medium orange gloss with no shimmer, a sheer shimmery pale pink gloss, a burgundy gloss and a fuchsia lipstick. I was worried the bubblegum pink pink gloss would be too sheer but I was wrong and it showed up brighter than I expected. The orange color is a bit bright as well but still wearable. Although the colors are pretty bright, they can be blotted down for a sheerer look.
