Dior Garden Clutch~Milly Garden-Swatches

I did manage to stop admiring the Dior Garden Clutch for a moment so I could do some swatching. I picked a flat spot between the rosettes so the overall pattern on the eye shadows were preserved :)

The flap on the right lifts up to reveal the lip colors.

Close-up of the eye shadows. Colors are a dark purple/grey, a light silver/grey and light pink. All the shadows are shimmery/iridescent.

Close-up of the lip colors. One is a lip plumper and one is a regular gloss. I have not worn either color so I can't tell which is which. I am guessing that the pale pink is the plumper and the other pink is the regular gloss.

Swatches~sorry all under indoor lighting. On the right are the lip colors; followed by the eye shadows, no primer.

The pale glosses don't really give off much color. The shadows have good pigmentation, although the palest color only shows up as a iridescent shimmer on my skin.
Quick eotd~

The Dior Garden Clutch in Milly Garden is available now on the Nordstrom website.
The rest of the Dior Spring 2012 is also on the site. Milly Garden is listed as exclusive to Nordstrom, but it may also be available on the Dior.com site in the future. There is also another variation of the Dior Garden Clutch called Granville Garden; to see pics and swatches of this clutch, please see Fruity Lashes' post.

Dior Mitzah 5 Colour Eyeshadow Palette

I've been eagerly anticipating Sephora's release of the Dior Mitzah collection and last week the items were finally made available on their website. The Limited Edition Panther palette is currently out of stock but the Mitzah quint palette is still available.

The interior of the velvet pouch has a leopard pattern.

Swatches-Clockwise starting from the bottom left shade.

Colors are a shimmery ivory (that leaned a bit pink on me), a dark earthy brown, a shimmery medium brown , a dark grey brown and the center is camel. The darker colors do have a bit of shimmer too but it was more subtle than the lighter colors.

Here are some comparison swatches:

Top: Mitzah quint
Bottom: Dior Cuir Leather palette (One of my first Dior palettes).
The colors in this palette are more iridescent.

Middle: Mitzah quint
Bottom: Dior Cuir Leather palette

So I had been able to order the Mitzah Panther palette from the Sephora website before it became out of stock. However, it arrived a bit damaged :(

Thankfully it's an isolated spot but still a bummer. I contacted Sephora and they were able to give me a small credit for inconvenience. Since the item is limited edition and out of stock, I am keeping it at the moment. The rep did not know when or if any more stock will become available but mentioned it may come back in stock closer to the holidays. So *fingers crossed* I can get a replacement in the future.

Although it was damaged, my kitty still wanted to claim the Mitzah palette.

Dior Fall 2011~Blue Tie Collection

Here are the additional pics for the Blue Tie Palette in Smoking Blue and Tuxedo Polish. I had also picked up the Vintage Rose blush and Rouge Serum Lipstick in Coral Crystal.

Exterior of the Blue Tie Palette

With the lip gloss compartment opened

Swatches of the lip gloss and shadows
(Upper left, lower left, upper right and lower right):

The left side shadows were a bit dry and took some effort to build up the color; it may be because they are more matte than the right side shadows which have more shimmer to them and applied much smoother.

Tuxedo polish in natural lighting:

In dimmer indoor lighting, the polish almost looks black. In natural lighting and brighter indoor lighting the blue shimmer color is more apparent.

Vintage Rose blush:

Sorry, I could capture a decent swatch. The left is a dusty pink, while the right is a shimmery peach.

Out of the five or so new Rouge Serum lipsticks, I picked Coral Crystal.

Love the plush moisturizing feel of this lipstick.

I have not seen this collection out other than at Saks; I can't wait to see which items are available at Sephora/Bloomingdales since the selection can vary a bit.

Dior Fall 2011~Blue Tie~ Preview

The Dior Blue Tie Collection was available at Saks. At first glance, I knew the Blue Tie Palette in Smoking Blue had to come home with me along with the Tuxedo polish. Just a quick pic of these items and a swatch pic of Tuxedo.

I hope to have more pictures posted tomorrow.

Dior Electric Tropics Polishes-Summer 2011

I had made a trip to Saks Fifth Avenue today to see if there was any info on the Mitzah collection. The SA didn't have any info :( I had also decided to make a visit to see which Dior polishes were available at Saks. I was drawn to a few punchy colors which stood out with their tinted bottles. Turns out they are part of the Electric Tropics collection for the Summer :)

There were 2 colors-Aloha and Paradise.

The box called these fluorescent polishes and each comes with a top coat polish.

Aloha is a bright orange; bottle is orange tinted.

Paradise is a pinky-coral color; bottle is pink tinted

As with other neon polishes, the polish dries to a rubbery sort of finish

Paradise without any topcoat, Aloha dries with a bit more shine to it.

With the Dior topcoat:

The formula on the polishes were nice. They went on smooth although there was still a bit of visible nail line after 3 coats. Drying time was pretty short. I can't wait for more pieces from this collection and for summer to arrive!

Dior Five Golds palette-Holiday 2010

I stopped by Saks Fifth Avenue a few weeks ago since I had a promotional gift card to use and I spotted a few of the Dior Holiday items. The Minaudiere clutch palette didn't wow me enough and in the end I only purchased the Dior Five Golds palette.

The name is a bit of a misnomer since the palette doesn't really have five golden colors. It actually has a bright silver, a shimmery copper, a shimmery bronze, a shimmery light gold and a glittery black.

The shimmery copper and shimmery bronze are the standout colors and I do like them a lot. They kind of reminded of some of the Urban decay colors so I compared them to 2 that I though seemed to be similar-half baked and smog.

Half baked had more of a sheen to it and was a bit brassier than the Dior copper. Smog was close to the bronze in the Dior palette but it also seem to have a different finish to it and the color was just a bit off.

I'm on the fence on this palette, the browns are gorgeous but the other colors in the palette are just ok for me. I've seen this listed on the sephora.com site but it's currently not in stock.
