What to do when you're a former? retired? beauty blogger with way too many items and not enough time to manage selling items through your own blogsale? You try to see what options are available online. You come upon a site that will take in make up items, give you an offer in cash or store credit (with a bonus amount) and you think that it's exactly what you need to purge and clean up/out your collection.
The first time I used glambot to get rid of my items. I got a pretty great offer (over $300) for my lot of probably close to 50 items of mostly high range items (Chanel, Dior etc.). My next offer was around $250 - ok, I thought it was probably because I sent a lot with more mid range items (Mac, Lorac etc.). Subsequently, my next offer was even lower. It took forever for my parcel to be processed (over a month and a half). I was being patient since it was getting close to holiday time) but it was hard to get a response from customer service to check the status. Another instance, when I finally received an offer, I was told xyz brand was not accepted even though I found items from those brand available for purchase and text that cited they would take any brand with items being sold through their website. I was able to receive a slightly better revised offer with some pushing.
My most recent experiences will probably be my last since the offers have been very meh but hey, I need to more space in my apt and items need a better home (hopefully) so I've accepted them instead of dealing with having items returned (which you will have to pay back shipping for). I have read stories of equally low balled amounts for items so I feel better know others have been in the same boat.
Glambot has been faster in their processing so I will give them that credit but I definitely question their fairness in deciding what offer will be given. I've asked them for more feedback and clarification in the past to understand my low(er) offers and have been brushed off. It would be nice to know if only x out of y items were accepted or something concrete like that to base the offers on. I was told that "desirability" was one of the main factors in establishing the offer amounts which leads to a lot of grey for them to use. Maybe, they've gotten more popular so they don't "desire" the items I'm sending since they have items from other people? It's also a bummer that on the site, if you are a buyer - you only see a stock photo rather than the actual item you are purchasing. I think in the beginning it use to be an actual picture. No purchasing from me, but that is another point that makes me wary with this company. So that's been my experience. I'm glad I was able to downsize my collection but moving forward, I will find other sites to use or will try to go back to posting on my own page.

Blog Sale Directory and an unrelated rant
Just read a few posts on this Blog Sale Directory that was put up by mrs Kalia. This is such a great idea since there are quite a few blog stores/sale sites going on. It's still in a set-up phase so more links will be added soon.
Er, a unrelated rant. So after getting my nails done and shopping a bit. I came home and really had to pee. I dash ahead of a couple slowly walking on my block and run into my building. I am across the lobby almost to the stairs when that couple happens to come through the front door and the girl shouts to me that I'm really rude for not holding the door for them. I turned around and told then "Sorry I have to use the restroom so I can't wait for you" and continue walking since that seem to shut her up. I get annoyed if people don't hold the door when I am right behind someone but these people were not right behind me. I was able to open the door and dash across the lobby before they even got to the door so don't tell me that I'm a rude person, you're the snob who things others should hold the door and wait for you! ugh.

Wordy post-a bit of ranting and rambling
Sorry, no actual reviews today. I am awaiting my copy of CS4 so I can properly label my pics. I think I may be getting it tomorrow so this post is boring, wordy and rant-y.
I went browsing through the departments stores recently. It was so hard to encounter a decent SA. I'm not a very hard customer. I usually I know what I want to get and I just need to be acknowledged and then left alone. At one counter, I was acknowledged but not left alone. The bothersome thing was that the SA would point out random things that weren't helpful. I was looking at the new collection available and checking out the lip glosses so the SA points out" we also have these other lip glosses" riight I even said I was there to see the new collection. I was looking at the new pencil eyeliner and she points out they have a liquid eyeliner...which is nice but not of interest to me and it just seemed like she would point out any generally related product without really paying attention to what I was looking at. Then when I was ready to make my purchase, she tells me that another SA will ring me up. She then tells that SA to make sure she gets credit for the sale and not take the sale for herself-that other girl gets offended and it was a very awkward moment. She also proceed to ask me what nationality I was and then commented that she could never tell the difference between asians....niiice. I wasn't offended and I know it wasn't really meant to be offensive but dang, be a little more pc.
At another counter I was completely ignored. i had a hand full of lip gloss swatches and this SA could not bother to acknowledge me she was talking to a half-interested customer and at some point reaches for a tissue-I thought oh nice she's going to give me a tissue to wipe off the handful of swatches on my hand-No, she gives it to the other woman who had 1 swatch on her hand....thanks. I just walked away. I probably would have purchased something if I was even the slightly acknowledged but since I wasn't I just left that counter. So hard to get good service these days. Sigh.
I had gone to the company store to see if there was anything good. I ended up finding a mineral finish powder with shimmer that was really nice. I also got a concealer and fafi blush but when I got back to the office, I realized that the SA gave me the wrong colors. For the concealer, I might have given the wrong tube but for the blush, it was definitely the SA who pulled the wrong one. Now I have to make another trip over there to exchange those products. Sigh.
Er, more up-beat stuff. I had gotten my geo lenses from Mesmerized Eyes on Monday which was hella fast since it was shipped out on Saturday from Cali. USPS was definitely impressive this time around. Since I have a dang astigmatism, I only got Angel brown and Angel grey. I tried on the brown pair and .....my eyes really look no different a bit darker but it's not reaally noticeable, maybe if I was outdoors it would be more apparant but yeah, indoors not so much. I still have to soak the grey pair and try them on, hopefully they are much more noticeable. Since I was in the first batch I had also received the cutest hello kitty contact lens case.
I had ordered the new Dior stuff from Nordstrom.com (fyi-I reeeeally like the Electric palette). When I ordered it they were offering a beauty bag with samples. A day after I get my shipping notice, I get an email that the gwp was no longer available. Ok, it was weird I got that e-mail after my shipping notice and I thought that on my shipping e-mail it said the beauty bag was shipped. I got my package yesterday and the beauty bag was in it but no samples-booo, although I really did like the bag more than the samples anyway. Well guess what I got today? A big box from Nordies with just the sample pack....weird but there was some good stuff in it.
I need to start my make-up diet and focus on the stuff I have. I don't know when I'll start since summer collections are around the corner and being oh so tempting. ok, going to end this post; go look at Japanese mags and get to bed on time so I don't end up super duper late to work (again). Hope everyone had a better week than the one I had, yay for the weekend!

Ranting, Shoes and flowers
Random post time. Today was just not my day. Nothing particularly bad happen, but nothing really went my way either. Work was busy, people were annoying and asking ridic questions. I got delayed on the train and had people would would insist on squishing into the middle seat next me. ugh. I get home and the bf is pissing me off and my cat is being needy therefore pissing me off. I am just having a foul mood type of day.
I did get stuff in the mail. I got some Jill Stuart jelly eye colors and I was impressed. They don't look very promising in the jar~in fact they look kind of gross but they shimmer like nobody's business. I got the shiny onyx and green butterfly. Will post pics next time when I am in a less crank-tastic mood.
My order from Steph also came in today. I had ordered some more plumpy goodness. These were the two I put on right away: plumpy flowers in rose and fuchsia.

I love these colors. I got a mess of other pairs to share, but atlas I will have to make another promise of pics in the next post.
It's finally going to warm up in NYC, about 50 degrees tomorrow and above 60 on Friday. I can't wait. I've been dying to wear these shoes out.

I'm a short girl (5'2 on a good day), I heart my heels although they go against my need to speed down a sidewalk-yep I get pedestrian rage. I go to spurts of being willing to deal with heels and spurts of not wanting to deal with the fuss. When it gets warmer I feel like it's easier to switch between heels and flats so I usually break out the heels more often although I often try to carry a pair of flats to change into at the end of the day.
Enough of my rambling, I'm in a slightly better mood now. I hate being hormonal, I become so easily irritable. Next time~more make-up and jewelry!

Bad MAC cosmetics store experience
I've accepted the fact that at most MAC stores, I will get little to no customer service, luckily I'm the type who likes to just stick her fingers into everything and figure out what to get by myself. However, today's poor MAC store experience tops it all.
I ended up going to the store in the Roosevelt Fields mall. I had to return holiday sets that I had gotten before they had gone on sale (important detail). I was looking at the new Dame Edna collection and no one approached me at all. Next thing I hear is a sales associate greet another girl in the store and assist her. Fine, I went to the counter and I planned on just returning the items since I had visited the MAC counter at Nordstroms earlier in the day and the SA's there were very nice. I waited by the counter and when I finally get someone's attention, I decided to purchase the lipsticks I was interested in (thinking I might get better service) so I told the girl which colors I wanted and she went to grab them... she comes back to the counter and another SA tells her that xyz items are for this girl behind me and this girl gets ringed up BEFORE me. ok...fine. She rings up my stuff and I realized that she discounted my holiday sets even though I had paid full price as shown by my receipt. I point this out and she actually asks another SA about it and the other SA says-"Yes, if she paid full price, she gets the full price back." I thought that was common sense but apparently not. No apology on this mistake or the slooow pace and I finally get to leave the store.
I was so annoyed that I purchased anything at all from that horrible store that I decided to return the items. I walked around and thought maybe I would cool down but I went back to return the items and it took absolutely forever. I felt a bit better that 2 other people before me on line seem to be getting ignored as well but I must have counted three people, not on line, who got ringed up before me. Finally I was able to return my items and not have any ties to that evil store. Now I know why I do not ever go to these stores and I should stick to the MAC counters in department stores.
